Discover the superpower within you: Mind Over Matter (MOM) revolutionises the way we experience rehabilitation and movement. The course aims to improve everyday movement patterns and relieve unrequired muscle strain.

Course Structure

The idea behind the structure of this introductory course is that you come out of it with a solid enough a knowledge to practice MOM in your daily life independently.

The course is composed of four sections over two meetings, as part of the experience necessary to see how MOM is effecting you over a period of time. Each session will focus on the whole body with emphasis on one area in particular, as well as making sure that the fundamentals of MOM are covered so that you are able to benefit from this journey well after the course is finished.

Section 1

Legs, hips, core and lower back

We will try and create isolation between the different elements so that a better use of these body parts will yield a cleaner movement pattern and you, your body, will be less tired and therefore less prone to injury.

Section  2

Arms, neck, shoulder blades, shoulders and core

The connection between the movement of the arms and the shoulder/shoulder blades is relevant to actions such as walking, drinking, driving and many more. Having the ability to isolate each part and making a choice what to use when - is a useful tool to aid with a healthier way of using our arms, shoulder and neck.

Section  3

The respiratory system

Looking at the mechanism of breathing and trying to isolate the action of breathing from the movement of the shoulder blade and then the shoulder. This session is challenging but highly effective for those who enjoy going on a hike, cycling, swimming or even writing for long duration of time.

Section  4

How all the elements of MOM fit together

You will experience a full body relaxation/meditation session and see how it fits into your daily life. Work on exercises that can find a way into your schedule without taking too much time, so make them fit your day rather than you finding the time to fit them in.

Mind Over Matter, A Rehabilitation Method, introductory course is led by Hadass Armon,

Hadass Armon (MA, FISTD)

A Movement Rehabilitation Specialist and the founder of MOM, who has been improving movement abilities whilst minimising injuries since 1993. Holds a Masters in Dance Education from NYU, a Fellowship from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (London), a Sports' Therapy and Hydrotherapy Diplomas, amongst other therapeutic qualifications.

In 1995, Hadass ran an extensive research at a Ph.D level in collaboration with the University of Surrey and Central School of Ballet (London), for which she received a Wingate Scholarship. The research examined the benefits professional dancers gain from using MOM as part of their daily training.

Hadass' clients range from leading Classical Ballet schools, Ballroom and Latin dancers, Rhythm Gymnastics professional teams and sports people who wish to improve their performance, minimising their injuries. In more recent years she has also been working with senior citizens who have lost all hope of movement. Gradually, using MOM, they find a way to enable the movement in their bodies and achieve goals that they have never dreamed would be attained again.

Mind Over Matter (MOM), a Rehabilitation Method, explained:

Mind Over Matter (MOM), a Rehabilitation Method, is a method of rehabilitation combining relaxation, imagination, strength and stretch, and balance training, using the mind as an integral part of the rehabilitative process.

The mind is flexible and powerful when it comes to retraining and focusing on achieving goals. We find it when we treat people with Dyslexia, teaching the mind a new path so the person can conquer reading; Mindfulness rests on the knowledge that the mind has the ability to alter our destination; and athletes use mental training to prepare them for a competition and visualise their race, to name but a few ways we use the mind.

MOM rests on the idea that using the abilities of the mind, like visualisation, imagination and relaxation, we can create new movement patterns allowing us to control how the body produces movement. Producing accurate movement with the least amount of effort leads us to reducing muscle stress and minimising potential injury.

In other words, if the brain can see a clear and clean picture of a certain movement, for example walking, then, with the correct guidance and support it, the body, will be able to produce that same clear movement, to the best of its ability, using only the necessary body parts to create the gesture, thus protecting other parts from being over worked.

You are invited to join MOM's introductory course this February (2023) in London where you will benefit from the magic of MOM.
